Lumi - Character Motion System

Lumi is an animated mascot designed to support children aged 9 to 14 while learning math, using clear and expressive emotions to guide them through different moments of the process.

The animation focuses on clarity and restraint: subtle movements, clean loops, and a friendly pace that supports attention rather than distracts from it.

Design considerations:

Soft, non-intrusive emotions
Loopable motion for repeated interactions
Limited gestures to maintain focus
Calm, age-appropriate pacing

Lumi was created as a calm and supportive character, designed to make learning moments feel a little easier and more human.

This project explores how subtle motion and emotional nuance can help guide attention without overwhelming the experience.
